We have launched our first in-person meetup. It’s a curated event designed to bring the thoughtful, serendipitous matching you know from Flynt into reality.

TL;DR: Our first in-person meetup is happening on Thursday 2nd April. It is a curated and paid event designed to bring the thoughtful matching of Flynt into the real world to ensure high intent and serendipitous connections.
We started Flynt with a simple premise: meeting great people, sometimes outside your industry, sparks fresh thinking. Until now, that’s happened over video calls. And while we love the efficiency of a 45-minute digital coffee, sometimes, you just want to sit across from someone, shake their hand and have a conversation without a screen in the way. As we hinted in our roadmap earlier this year, we have been exploring in-person features, when conversations naturally want to continue offline. You can now reserve your spot for our very first Flynt In-Person Meetup on Thursday the 2nd April.
We believe the best professional connections happen when preparation meets serendipity. Flynt Meetups make working the room optional. You’ll already have someone we think you should meet before you arrive and suggested topics you can talk about. It’s about stepping into a space where the introductions have already been thoughtfully considered. We use the same AI matching model, which we call FRED (yes, after the famous Flintstone), and it means Flynt Recommendation Engine Designation — more on that in another post. FRED powers the experience online to curate the initial chat in the room, pairing you with people relevant to your goals. Which won’t always be obvious matches, but high-value ones. Just like our online flow, you will be able to reveal one (or two) matches before the meetup. Importantly, they’re just the people we think you should speak to are just suggestions, since it’s not a video call you can also chat to others in the room.
To ensure the quality of the experience, this is a paid networking event, £9 to reserve your spot. The fee serves two simple purposes. First, it allows us to cover the cost of renting a great venue. Second and perhaps more importantly, it acts as a filter for intent. We want to build a room where everyone is serious about being there. When you clear your evening to meet someone, you should have the confidence that they have done the same.
We spoke earlier this year about reliability being foundational for Flynt to fit into your working life. By bringing our existing intelligent networking experience into the physical world, we’re aiming for our in-person events to maintain the same high standard of our virtual monthly Flynt Friday matches. You’ll be in a room full of highly open-minded, curious and interested folks who are exceptional at what they do.
Just like we did with Beta, we want to learn from you what makes in-person meetups great as we go along. Specifically, does meeting in person change the dynamic of smarter networking? What do we need to get right to make you feel valued? Thank you for trusting us with your time. Here is to seeing you out there—in real life. Login to your Flynt account or join the waitlist and we can’t wait to meet so many of you.
